I really enjoyed my trip to Sagada. First, because I was travelling with my good friends and second, there were a lot of adventures to do in Sagada! After almost ten hours of travel (which we didn't notice since we were just sleeping peacefully in the van), our first stop was the Banaue Rice Terraces. There was a short photo-op at the arch that says "Welcome To Banaue".
The next stop was the highlight of the morning - the Banaue Rice Terraces. I've been there with my family some years ago but I couldn't really remember anything about it. Since it was planting season, seeing the steps covered by rice seedlings was a really nice view. Since we were not afraid of mud, we decided to walk and explore the steps. They were really high but there were places where a person could get down or up.
After around an hour, we went back to the van to continue our trip to Sagada which was another two hours or so from Banaue. Our room was ready when we arrived so we got a few hours of rest before our caving adventure. We paid for the Sumaguing Cave Connection. However, we were not prepared for what we were about to face. Caving lasted for SIX.LONG.HOURS. I have nothing against extraneous activities since I climb mountains but I didn't expect that being surrounded by walls makes a lot of difference. I enjoyed the initial hours but not when it we reached the fourth hour and there was still no sign of exit, I just wanted everything to end. Maybe it's the huge number of tourists that slowed us down. Most of the times, we had to wait for others since there were tiny holes that could only accommodate one at a time. I'm sure this experience would have been very different with a faster pace and smaller group. We started the cave connection at 2PM and we manage to get out at 8PM. We could actually walk from the cave exit to our inn but we opted to call our driver to pick us up since everyone was dead tired with the trip.

The next day was my day. I don't care how long I need to walk as long as it's in open air with green fields and blue sky. At 8AM, we prepared for our trek to Bomod-ok Falls. This is one of the highlights in Sagada. The tour agency already prepared for the guides so all we have to do is to walk. Getting there was quite easy - it was just a matter of going down the concrete steps and traversing the dikes of the rice fields. It took us two hours to reach the falls and the view was really magnificent! Even in the summer, there was a high volume of water flowing through the falls and the basin was deep. Taking a deep was also a reward after the hot trek.
We stayed there for around an hour and a half until we decided to get back since we left our lunch in the van. Since getting there was easy, we expected that going back would be more challenging. Our only motivation is a cold and delicious Halo-Halo and our lunch. Apart from the ascending stairs, we have to stop and wait for a long time for other travelers who were just on their way to the falls. And so it was around 2PM when we got back. While I enjoyed the activity and the view of the famous falls, nothings beats seating on the grass, eating lunch and chatting with friends after an experience like that.
