The province offers a variety of of attractions - adventure, historical, environmental, and it also serves as a gateway to neighboring provinces like Bohol, Siquijor, and Cagayan de Oro.
One of the easiest and most accessible destination is the Cebu City. It is very similar to Metro Manila, with the vast presence of industries, condominiums, complicated transportation network and busy streets. Located at the heart of the city are many historical destinations.
Fort San Pedro
Located in Plaza Independencia, it is a military defense structure built by the Spanish and the indigenous Cebuano laborers under the command of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
The smallest, oldest triangular bastion fort in the country was built in 1738 to repel Muslim raiders. In turn, it served as a stronghold forFilipino revolutionaries near the end of the 19th entury. This served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines.

Cebu Cathedral
The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is the ecclesiastical seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cebu in Cebu, Philippines.Cebu was established as a diocese on August 14, 1595. It was elevated as a metropolitan archdiocese on April 28, 1934 with the dioceses o fDumaguete, Maasin, Tagbilaran, and Talibon as suffragans.
Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño
It is a 16th century church in Cebu City in the Philippines. It was built purportedly on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú, a sculpture depicting the Holy Child Jesus found by Spanish explorers in 1565 preserved in a burned wooden box which was left behind during the 1521 Magellan expedition.
Magellan's Cross
Just beside the Basilica del Sto.Niño is Magellan's Cross. Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese, and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on April 1521.
Heritage of Cebu Monument
A five-minute walk from the Magellan's Cross will take you to the Heritage of Cebu Monument. Finished in 2000, it consists of structures made of concrete, bronze, brass, and steel depicting the important events that shaped the history of Cebu.
