Zoobic Safari

Zoobic Safari is located in Subic Bay Freeport Zone Group 1, Ilanin Forest, Subic Freeport Zone, about 3 hour drive from Metro Manila. It is a 25-hectare zoo and forest that offers a wide variety of attractions. Tickets for the tour with tram ride costs P549 per person and can be bought on the ticketing office at the zoo entrance. After purchasing, each group will be assigned to a tour guide.

The tour lasts for about 2 1/2 hours and consists of two parts: the walk-thru and drive thru. The first destination of the walk-thru is the bird thrill with different species of colorful birds. Most of them are even outside the cages where they are free to fly around.

For only P10, guests can also experience feeding several love birds on their hands.

The next part of the walk-thru tour takes guests to apes, species of deers, lions and puma. There are also camels that can be fed by dried leaves.

One of the cutest part is the Nurzoory that takes care of lambs and other small animals. They are used to people and can be fed with milk for only P10.

The next attraction is the Serpentarium with pythons, boa constrictors, other snakes, lizards, Iguanas and other reptiles.

The whole walk thru tour lasts for about 40 minutes and is followed with the drive-thru tour where guests ride on a tram. The first attraction of the drive thru tour is the Zoobic Cave that houses different stuff animals followed by the Forbidden Cave where we walked through hanging bridges.

We walked a few meters to reach the Tiger Safari booking area. We waited for about 15 minutes until we could board the Safari vehicle. It is a bus-type vehicle with metal cages and has a capacity of 16 guests. You may opt to buy a chicken for P200 to attract the tigers. Every vehicle is accompanied by a driver, photographer and trained tiger feeder. The tigers even jump on top of the vehicle.

After the thrilling Tiger Safari, we again boarded the Tram and continued with the tour. We were then taken to the cages of more lions.

The farm for ostriches and wild boars followed and then the Bone/Skin MuZOOeum. It had bones of animals and skins.

The second to the last attraction was the Aeta's Trail where several Aetas performed short native dances for guests.

The Croco Loco attraction ended the tour. There were numerous crocodiles on a man-made lake and we walked through metal bridges above them. You could also feed them for P50.

The whole tour took us 3 hours and it was totally worth it. I've been through different zoos and it was the first time I saw camels, donkey, puma and some species of deers.
